Timber Plantation

The increasing scarcity of quality timber is encouraging many landowners to value native timber stands on their property and to increase planting of useful species.

Engedi undertakes feasability studies to provide recommendations and the implimentation of successful planting programs.

Traditional exotic timber plantations have damaged our soils and provide very little habitat for wildlife. Native hardwood and rainforest plantations will allow natural rehabilitation of soils and provide food and habitat for a large diversity of endemic animals, birds, reptiles, and insects.

With a global acknowledgement of the seriousness of climate change, it is important to understand that native plantations will absorb carbon emissions, and will also encourage higher rates of rainfall.
